4x4 RESPONSE North East

Providing logistical vehicle and driver assistance to the emergency services, local authorities and associated responders in diverse weather conditions and difficult terrain throughout the year.

Flood Alert for River Upper Coquet - Flooding is possible - be preparedIssued by the Environment Agency"Rising temperature is causing snow melt and river levels on the River Coquet are rising. Levels are expected to peak on Tuesday night, however further rain forecast later this week could cause the river to respond again. The River Coquet has recently changed course naturally and more water is now flowing into Caistron Lakes. There is a risk that additional water will be released from the lakes causing the river to rise quicker than usual. The main risk areas are the floodplain downstream of Caistron Lakes, Thropton & Rothbury. Land users should be prepared to move livestock and property to higher ground and the public should stay away from the river. We don’t expect properties to be affected or to issue Flood Warnings. We are closely monitoring the situation. The flood gates at Rothbury will be closed today at 15:30 as a precaution, and Northumberland County Council are closing riverside footpaths. This message will be updated by 9am on 17/02/2021 or if the situation changes."More information here flood-warning-information.service.gov.uk/warningsWhat to do here: flood-warning-information.service.gov.uk/what-to-do-in-a-flood?utm_source=warning&utm_medium=gov....#StaySafe #stayhome be #floodaware and be #weatherawareNE025 ... Deployment Update 14/02/21 💘 Now it’s not often we actually mention responders by name ... but it’s Valentine’s Day ❤️❤️❤️ after all... and what better way to celebrate that as a couple than by being dispatched on a shout together (we are nice like that)! At the request of Durham Constabulary we dispatched x1 team* (Catherine & Mark) tasked to the Cowshill area of Weardale in the North Pennies to locate and assist a motorist stranded on the B6295. Upon arrival on scene the team swept the road as far as was safely possible but were unable to locate the vehicle. Further investigation indicated the motorist had been able to extricate themselves from their location, making their own way home. With no further tasking the team was stood down to return home and reheat their dinner. Thanks guys 👍#staysafe #stayhome be #weatheraware NE025#4x4ruk #OneResponseFamily * a team is x2 responders in separate vehicles, for safety reasons we always deploy responders in pairs during severe weather. ...
